Authorities Release Images of Armed Suspect at Home of Missing Woman in Arizona

GeokHub

TUCSON, Arizona — Feb 10 (GeokHub) - U.S. authorities on Tuesday released images and video showing a masked and armed individual appearing to tamper with a doorbell security camera at the home of an elderly Arizona woman who was abducted earlier this month.
The woman, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, was last seen by family members on January 31. Her disappearance has drawn national attention as investigators intensify efforts to identify a suspect and locate her safely.
Security Camera Footage Revealed
The images, recovered from a doorbell camera at Guthrie’s Tucson home, show a person wearing a face covering, gloves, a backpack and what appears to be a firearm holster.
Law enforcement officials said the footage was recorded around 3 a.m. on February 1, hours after Guthrie was last seen. In the video, the individual appears to approach the front door with their head lowered, suggesting awareness of the camera’s position, before attempting to block it with nearby foliage and ultimately damaging it.
Authorities said the camera was disabled during the early morning hours that day.
Timeline Raises Alarm
Investigators said Guthrie’s pacemaker disconnected from her phone shortly before dawn on February 1, around the same time police believe she was taken.
Family members reported her missing later that day after she failed to attend Sunday church services, prompting an intensive search.
At present, officials say there are no publicly identified suspects or persons of interest.
Federal and White House Response
Federal authorities described the images as newly recovered evidence that had previously been inaccessible. Senior officials have visited the investigation’s command center as efforts expand across agencies.
The case has also drawn attention at the highest levels of government. White House officials said the president reviewed the images and urged anyone with information to contact authorities immediately.
Family Pleads for Help
Guthrie’s family has made repeated public appeals, asking for tips and urging those responsible to return her safely or make contact. The family has said it is willing to pay a ransom.
The case has sparked widespread concern, with family members expressing belief that she is still alive and calling on the public to help bring her home.
Investigators continue to ask residents in the area to review security footage and report any suspicious activity from the early hours of February 1.
