Feb 18 (GeokHub) — Atlassian has appointed James Chuong as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective March 30, the company announced Wednesday. He will succeed Joe Binz, who previously disclosed plans to retire later this year.
Chuong, 46, joins Atlassian after more than a decade as CFO of LinkedIn, a subsidiary of Microsoft.
In his new role, Chuong will oversee Atlassian’s global finance and legal operations. The appointment marks a key leadership transition as the company continues expanding its enterprise software footprint.
Binz, who announced in October that he would step down effective June 30, said he was retiring to focus on his personal life.
The leadership change comes amid solid business momentum. Earlier this month, Atlassian raised its fiscal 2026 revenue forecast, citing sustained enterprise spending on its collaboration and productivity tools.
The company’s software products help organizations manage teams, track work progress, and analyze operational data — positioning it as a major player in the global enterprise software market.
Deep Financial Experience
Before joining LinkedIn, Chuong built his career in investment banking, holding roles at major financial institutions including JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Bank of America.
His appointment brings extensive financial and operational leadership experience to Atlassian as it navigates continued growth and evolving market conditions.
