The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted across 882 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide. Out of over 1.9 million candidates who sat for the exam, 39,834 results have been withheld due to various infractions. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed that the withheld results are under investigation for issues ranging from identity fraud and biometric discrepancies to impersonation and involvement in "WhatsApp runs"—rogue groups promising leaked exam questions. Specifically, 3,656 candidates were flagged for possessing extraneous fingerprints, suggesting potential impersonation strategies.
