President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a firm directive to Nigeria’s top security chiefs to immediately bring an end to the deadly violence plaguing Benue State, following a brutal massacre that claimed dozens of lives. The president’s directive came on Sunday through a statement by Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, who noted that Tinubu was deeply disturbed by the unrelenting attacks on innocent civilians. “The President has directed security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and peace is restored swiftly,” Onanuga stated. The renewed violence in Benue has left communities devastated, with scores feared dead and many more displaced.
